Well Well Well (The Hope Saga Continues!)

The (Cyber) Bag of Weasels

bread and puppet

"About as much fun as a bag of weasels"...when I first saw this Irish adage, it made me think of the life of a writer: sometimes perilous, sometimes painful, certainly interesting. My paper journal has always been called "The Bag of Weasels." This is the Bag of Weasels' online home.

As though we actually needed proof that the attention-whoring, compulsive-lying Hope McC is still watching what we're up to, I just got this in my email, about a half-hour ago:

It has come to our attention that in your entry located at http://dawn-felagund.livejournal.com/265934.html you have posted material which is invasive to the privacy of another. This is a violation of LiveJournal's Terms of Service, and as such we have suspended this entry.

If you wish for the entry to be unsuspended, we must require that you edit the entry to remove the full name "Hope REMOVED" from the entry, any screenshots which contain that name, and delete all of the comments on that entry which contain that full name.

Once you have done so, a request will automatically be submitted to us which will allow us to review the changes and unsuspend the entry if all necessary information has been removed.

I've edited my Facebook screencap and REMOVED her last name in the post. What's left to do is to go through the (almost 300! *whimper*) comments and remove those and repost with edits. So the post will remain offline until then, but I will have it back up as soon as I can.

This is a first for me, having an LJ entry suspended! :D
  • Well, it should be a simple search and replace feature, but it is a nice wake-up call that she is watching. Someone deserves coal in their holiday stocking.

    • I had no doubt that she was watching. Someone who loves drama and hurting people as much as she clearly does wasn't just going to fade into the night because I said "boo" to her in an email.

Unfortunately, a lot of the comments with her name aren't mine, so I can't edit them, and the authors can't get in to edit their own. What I'll do is repost them under my name, edited, and with attribution to the original commenter, who is welcome to repost them her/himself, if needed, or tell me to delete the repost.

Someone deserves coal in their holiday stocking.

      Lol! Indeed! :D
      • Hurting other people is the key for her. She seems to love to lash out and try to make other people feel bad. It really upsets me--I had this fantasy that we were finished with her. I thought about writing something about this latest thing on my LJ, but think I don't want to ever mention her. The absolute worst and scariest thing for her would be to never ever be mentioned again, but then she could re-create herself and go about hurting new people without anyone knowing she had done it before. It is a sticky situation.
        • That's what I wrangled with in deciding whether to go public with what I'd learned in the first place. My initial instinct was to spread the word as far as I could and trust the fandom grapevine to do the rest--but then, that was part of what allowed her to get such a deathgrip on this community in the first place, as facts became rumors became (presumed) lies. (For the record, I am not blaming those who didn't go public with what they knew; they had good reasons, but dang, hindsight is 20/20! :) I'll admit that this post was more along the lines of an "LOLWTF" kind of post. I agree with you and probably won't give her the satisfaction again.
          • I guess I am a wimp! I am not LOLing as much as I wish I could. I turn bitter when I am betrayed.
            • You were also treated much worse than me. I find myself unable to be terribly angry/bitter about her treatment of me. I am more angry over having wasted so much time on her that could have been spent supporting friends' writing projects or even working on my own. I am very angry over the way she treated others in the fandom, both friends of mine and people who I barely knew but had their reputations dragged through the mud to support her attention-whore habit. The "LOLWTF" is more to do with Kei's horse-barn-door analogy: I suppose she will count this as a victory, but what a pathetic one it is.
              • It is a pretty paltry victory. It rather proves everyone's points about her. She doesn't know when to shut up and cut her own losses. That is how she dug the hole so deep and wide in the first place. If she had been just a tad bit less vicious and greedy, she might have never been caught out and played the game virtually forever.
                • That astounds me. When she "died," "Eli" was in the best position a person could be in in this community. He had the world's sympathy. Those who didn't like Roisin (or who believed her to be a fake) didn't feel like they could say so. He was getting all kinds of support from popular authors and talented writers. He was getting props for the whole Create for Life thing. He could have coasted his way into being one of the best-liked people in the community but had to go so insanely overboard. I almost wonder if she wasn't wondering how far she could take things ...
