| Bio: | I am Medium Dawn Felagund of the Fountain: Medium: I am of average size, a woman about 5'7" in height, and of ordinary appearance. If I were a fast food beverage, I would be a Medium: That to which people of neither extreme are willing to commit. Dawn: Part of my "Muggle-name," that which was given me by my parents. I like the meaning--new beginning--but not the sound, which has a tendency to be drawn out to "Duh-awwwn." Still, it is better than my last name, which is a liberal's hyphenated monstrosity. Felagund: One of my favorite Silmarillion Elves. This unfailingly happy blond likes to create his own little worlds to play in and tends to be too devoted to his friends. I like to think of both as virtues. of the Fountain: Silmaniacs, no, it is not a reference to Ecthelion of the Fountain. Although Ecthelion of the Fountain is one awesome Elf and surely deserves folks naming themselves after him. In my case, though, "of the fountain" refers to an ice cream fountain. I enjoy making homemade ice cream and confections. I am 25 and live in Baltimore, Maryland, USA, with my husband Bobby. In the "real" world, I have a degree from the University of Maryland Baltimore County in human services psychology, biopsychology, and writing. Somehow, that landed me a job with the Division of Parole and Probation as a research statistician, a.k.a. geeky office assistant. My past jobs have included working as a fiction editor, adult literacy tutor, and kitchen manager. I my preferred world, I write and paint all day. My current passion is for stories based off of J.R.R. Tolkien's The Silmarillion and for the Elves of Middle-earth. I also enjoy miniatures-building and -painting, although I haven't had the time to learn the games for which I spend hours painting models. I do, however, love RPGs and currently moderate/DM a campaign that involves both online and tabletop components. Most of my writing will be available in my journal. I encourage all to read it and leave me comments. I take seriously every suggestion that I receive and never truly "complete" a story. Please do not hesitate to friend my journal. If our interests are similar, I will probably friend you back and read your own work. However, I must warn younger readers that--while I do not mind you friending my journal--some of the material I post here might not be suitable for young eyes. I will try to lj-cut potentially offensive material, but everyone's human, and I might forget. I am an old, pervy married woman with old, pervy married friends, and if the tales and discussions that result from this are likely to offend you, then please tred with caution. I have experience as an editor also and am always happy to help fellow writers with their work. I am always available as a beta-reader (or reviewer, whichever you prefer) on topics that interest me. Another Man's Cage is a novel-length work, following Fëanor's young family over the course of a year living in Valinor. This is an AU slash novella. You have been warned.Rating: Adult The World's Stupidest Silmarillion Play. This play began as an attempt to get my husband interested in The Silmarillion. It...well, it turned out stupid. It's a humorous look at the events of the early Silmarillion. Please be forewarned of bawdy humor and that it is a work in progress and not likely to be finished anytime soon. Rating: General Short Stories.
