Yes, I'm Alive!
I've had so much about which I've wanted to write. I had an awesome holiday weekend and a crappy beginning of the week at work--but no time to write in my LJ.
I spent most of the weekend in a mildly hypomanic state. There was some minor wall-bouncing and very little sleep and a bit of relentless laughter to make things interesting. Normally, I require eight to nine hours of sleep per night to function, but this weekend, I could not sleep. Even when I felt tired...nothing. I was wired.
Which set me up to crash this week.
Problem: It's been a very busy week. At home, in my social circles, and--most annoyingly--at work. So while dragging myself around in a sleep-deprived funk, people actually seem to be expecting things of me. Like that warrants be run and pasta be eaten with my family and that I attempt to do an axel at skating practice. What I'd love to do is go home, package up my candy to ship out this weekend, take a three-hour nap, and waste the evening writing holiday gift stories.
Today's the first day with nothing crazy on the schedule for the evening, so hopefully, I can squeeze all that in. Well, maybe not a three-hour nap, but an hour might be nice!
I went to the Cake Cottage last night to pick up the last of my candy packaging supplies and allowed myself to walk down the aisle with the molds, which I usually avoid because then I want to buy everything. Like a mold for a 3D chocolate sleigh or a complete chocolate nativity scene. (And I'm not even a Christian!) But since the candy is mostly finished, I indulged myself and I found....
A. Star. Of. Feanor. Candy. Mold.
Well, really, it's supposed to be the Christmas star, but I know damn right well that they jacked the idea from the Feanster himself. So, of course, I had to buy one. So those of you who ordered holiday candy from me will get a bonus milk chocolate Star of Feanor. (Incidentally, the mold also contains a Star of the Pentalliance, which is the star from Felak's original RPG/writing world. That was exciting too, but not as exciting as the Star of Feanor.)
Today, Bobby's home sick, which means that he will come and have lunch with me. So now I'm debating: Should I eat a small cup of Lucky Charms for breakfast? Or just wait for lunch?
(At least) eleven more warrants are coming today, so I should enjoy the peace while it lasts....
