Create for Life Project

The (Cyber) Bag of Weasels

bread and puppet

"About as much fun as a bag of weasels"...when I first saw this Irish adage, it made me think of the life of a writer: sometimes perilous, sometimes painful, certainly interesting. My paper journal has always been called "The Bag of Weasels." This is the Bag of Weasels' online home.

Create for Life is this weekend!

(Not sure what the heck I'm talking about? The Create for Life community has more information here!)

I have decided to take on a project that has me both nervous and excited because it will truly be a challenge for me. I will be writing for 24 hours straight, working on a novella that I've been planning for some years now. The full project description is here. I am looking for sponsors willing to pledge a donation to the American Cancer Society for every 1,000 words I write or a flat donation. However, I also know times are tough, and people can't give to every worthy cause. So I'm also looking for cheerleaders willing to cheer me on this Saturday! :) I'll be making periodic progress updates on LiveJournal, Dreamwidth, and Facebook during my 24-hour marathon. Even better yet, if you have some free time this weekend, please consider taking an hour or two to write a story or make a piece of art for the Create for Life project.

If you're interested in sponsoring me, please let me know! :) Once the novella is completed, I will also be selling it with all proceeds going to ACS.

  • Awesome! I will count out my pennies and make a contribution. Do you have a fundraising page or are you taking pledges on the honour system?

    Good luck!
    • We're on the honor system this year; I ran out of time to look into the pledge sites you found. That's on the agenda for next year! :)

      Thanks so much! *hugs*

    • Thank you! I'm getting ready to go to bed now, and when I wake up, I will see how well I fare as a marathon writer. ;)
